This Cookie Policy explains how Shackleton Bidco Limited, trading as BlueLease (“we”, “us”, “our”), uses cookies and similar technologies on www.bluelease.ie. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more generally.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Cookies are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to site owners about how their site is used. Similar technologies — such as local storage, pixels and tracking scripts — perform comparable functions, and this policy covers those too.
Cookies we use
No cookies are set when you first arrive on this site. Analytics cookies are only ever set after you have accepted them using the banner described in the next section. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics cookie is written to your device at any point.

If you are signed in to the site’s administration area — which applies to our own staff and contractors, not to visitors — WordPress sets additional cookies that are strictly necessary to keep that session secure. Analytics is not loaded at all for signed-in administrators.
Your choice, and how to change it
On your first visit you will see a banner asking whether you accept analytics cookies. It offers Accept and Reject as equally available choices — neither is preselected, and declining takes exactly one click, the same as accepting.
- If you accept, the Google Analytics script is loaded and the cookies in the table above are set.
- If you decline, the Google Analytics script is never requested from Google’s servers, no analytics cookie is created, and no data about your visit is sent anywhere. Declining suppresses the script itself rather than merely hiding the banner.
- If you ignore the banner, nothing is loaded — silence is treated as refusal, not as consent.
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page, which brings the banner back. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. If you withdraw consent, no further analytics data is collected from you; any cookie already set can be removed through your browser, as described below.
Google Analytics
Subject to your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how this site is used — for example, which sections people read, how they arrived, roughly where in the world they are, and whether anything is failing. We use this to improve the site. We do not use it to build advertising profiles, and we have not enabled any advertising, remarketing or audience-sharing features. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors from analytics data, and we do not combine it with the details you send us through the enquiry form.
Google Analytics 4 uses your IP address to derive an approximate location and then discards it; it does not log or store IP addresses. Google acts as our data processor for this, and may process the data outside the European Economic Area — the safeguards for those transfers are described in our Privacy Policy. Google’s own practices are set out in the Google Privacy Policy.
[NOTE FOR CLIENT REVIEW: the data-retention period configured on the Google Analytics property needs to be confirmed and stated here. GA4 offers 2 months or 14 months for event-level data; the shorter period is the safer default unless there is a reason for the longer one. The cookie lifetimes in the table above are set by Google and are not affected by this setting.]
As well as the Reject option on our banner, Google offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics across all websites.
The enquiry form
Our contact form does not use cookies, and it works whether or not you accept analytics.
To protect it from automated abuse, our server temporarily records a one-way, irreversible fingerprint of the IP address a submission came from, together with a count of recent submissions. This is held on our server — not on your device — is not used to identify you, is not shared with anyone, and is automatically deleted after 15 minutes. It is unrelated to analytics and happens regardless of your cookie choice, because it is strictly necessary to keep the form working.
The name, email address, company name and message you type into the form are sent to us by email so that we can respond. That information is covered by our Privacy Policy.
Other third-party services
Google Fonts. The typefaces used on this site are served by Google Fonts. This does not set cookies, but it does mean that when a page loads, your browser requests font files directly from Google’s servers, and your IP address and browser details are disclosed to Google in the process. This happens regardless of your analytics choice, because the fonts are part of how the page is drawn.
We do not use advertising cookies, remarketing tags, social media pixels, session recording, or any cross-site tracking technology.
Managing cookies in your browser
Separately from our banner, you can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking them or deleting ones already stored. The help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge explain how. Blocking cookies will not stop you using this site.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the site or to legal requirements. Any update will be published on this page with a revised “last updated” date. If we start using a materially different category of cookie, we will ask for your consent again rather than relying on a choice you made about the previous version.
